End of Term Updates

Dear Parent / Carer,

We are nearly at the end of the year and will be sending out a letter later this week with the arrangements for the Autumn Term as they stand at the moment.

I would like to reassure you that despite the rule changes nationally, all our control measures are staying in place for the rest of this week and we will continue to do everything we can in school to reduce the risk to children in staff.

I do understand that some families have made the decision not to send their children to school this week due to holidays booked next week etc and I completely understand the reasons that have led to that decision. I am unable to authorise these absences but as I said, we do understand and empathise with the reasons for this. We won’t be setting online learning for children that are remaining at home due to parental choice but please do use the Oak National Academy and BBC bitesize websites this week and keep up the excellent reading and times table practice.

If your child has been identified by school as needing to self-isolate, or they are self-isolating due to a close contact out of school or awaiting results, we will continue to provide online learning for children via their Teams accounts. Live lessons are in place for whole classes that are self-isolating and the children that have been also identified as close contacts of positive cases in those classes.

The children all had the opportunity to find out their new teacher today and Year 3 and 4 had the chance to spend time in their new class groups. We hope that they enjoyed this and are looking forward to the year ahead as much as we are. We tried to make calls home today to as many children as we could that weren’t at school today to share the news. If your child doesn’t know for any reason, please email the school email address or call the office and we can share the information with you.

Finally, we are sending end of year reports home this week and we will put them in the post if your child is absent for any reason.

If you have any questions, please do email or call us to discuss. There is a high volume of emails and calls at the moment, but I can assure you we do pass them onto the relevant staff and ensure that they are actioned, even if we aren’t able to reply to them as quickly as we would like to.

Kind regards,

Mrs Simmons
