Vision And Values
We believe passionately in helping our pupils achieve their individual best. At the heart of all our work is our belief that: ‘High Expectations lead to High Achievers’. Our high expectations extend to all aspects of the Academy’s work: academic standards, behaviour, respect, kindness and courtesy.
At Queen's Park Academy, ensuring children are ready for the next steps in their education and developing their character is just as important as supporting them in making excellent academic progress. The school has developed a character awards system and the pupils selected 12 character traits, through school council, that they feel are vital characteristics for people to have. We reward pupils with blue dots when we see them demonstrate these traits in school and then they earn character badges 1 - 4 that are sewn onto their uniforms when these are seen on multiple occasions. Their character charts travel through the school with them and we teach the children how to develop and show these traits through the PSHE curriculum and assemblies.
The 12 QPA character traits are:
Grit
Adaptability
Optimism
Self-control
Inter-dependence
Sportsmanship
Curiosity
Courage
Compassion
Mindfulness
Creativity
Trust
