Queen’s Park Academy pupils fall down a rabbit hole
Queen’s Park Academy became home to the Queen of Hearts on World Book Day along with dozens of Cheshire Cats, Mad Hatters and white rabbits.
The school in East Way, Bournemouth, was transformed into Wonderland.
And as part of two days of curriculum enrichment focusing on the well-loved tale, pupils enjoyed a theatre production of Alice in Wonderland.
Associate Principal Sarah Simmons said: “The children have totally immersed themselves in this wonderful book and with the help of their parents have really gone to town on their costumes.
“We have used Alice in Wonderland as the basis for work in literacy, maths and art over the two days and I think everyone would agree that it has been a really fun way to celebrate World Book Day and our love of reading.”
Queen’s Park Academy is an Outstanding school and attained the top results in the borough in the last SATs.
The academy is part of Ambitions Academies Trust (AAT) which has a track record in transforming underperforming schools.
